Anna F. Rentfro, 98, of Effingham passed away on Saturday evening, June 10, 2017, at Lutheran Care Center in Altamont.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Johnson Funeral Home, 1110 N. Fourth Street, Effingham. Burial will be in Oak Ridge Cemetery in Effingham. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Wednesday prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorials may be made in loving memory of Anna to the Lutheran Care Center in Altamont. Anna was born on Nov. 11, 1918, in Effingham, the daughter of Edward and Eva (Dillman) Fisher. She married Roy Rentfro on May 30, 1964, and he preceded her in death on Dec. 26, 1982.
Anna worked at Ellman's Department Store as a head cashier. She especially loved her job and loved working with people. She also loved all animals and would help out any stray. After she married Roy, they lived on a farm and had animals of their own.
Anna is survived by her son, James DeVore of Merritt Island, FL; daughter-in-law, Judy W. DeVore of St. Charles, MO; grandchildren, Christine Santilo of Williston, FL, Brian (Linda) DeVore of St. Charles, MO, James DeVore II of Merritt Island, FL, and Jason (Cherry) DeVore of Effingham; several great-grandchildren; and many great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Larry DeVore; brother, Edward Fisher; sisters, Mary Fisher and Evelyn Bishop; and granddaughter, Cindy (DeVore) Grewe.
