Beverly Claar Woodhall, 89, residing in Leawood, Kansas, died peacefully on February 7, 2018. She was lovingly cared for by Kansas
City Hospice and Palliative care.
Beverly was born on August 27, 1928 at the family home in Shumway,
Illinois, a daughter of Lucille Lake Richars and Forest Richars. She
spent most of her young life at the Lake family farm in Elliotstown,
Illinois where she was surrounded by extended family and the daily
adventures of rural life. Upon graduating from Effingham High School,
she married James Claar of Watson, Illinois and in 1972 married William
Woodhall of Stamford, Connecticut. Beverly held several secretarial
jobs and had a flair for interior design.
Beverly is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Christine and David
Lyon, of Leawood, Kansas; her son and daughter-in-law, Brian and Tracy
Claar, of Castle Rock, Colorado. She is also survived by her loving
grandchildren, Timothy, Gregory and Kelsey Lyon and Zackary and Cassidy
Claar; two great-granddaughters and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service is planned for March 24, 2018 in Kansas City. Please
