Bonnie Ray (Baker) was born February 1, 1929 in Sigel, IL to parents Samuel and Lillian Baker (Koester). She spent her youth and young adult life in southern Illinois. After high school, Bonnie received her beautician license. She married her loving husband Robert (Bob) Ray on June 4, 1945. Together they raised two children, Susan and Steve and lived in Morrison, IL. Bob worked as a design engineer for General Electric and Bonnie was a homemaker and also an Office Manager. They loved taking annual family vacations to many places around the U.S. Treasured memories were made for everyone. Later, Bob and Bonnie moved to Effingham, IL to be close to family. They enjoyed trips to California and Arizona where they were able to spend time with family to include 4 grandsons (Matthew and Joshua Pursley) and (Ben and Brad Ray). Bonnie enjoyed fishing whether it was in a lake or deep sea fishing in the Pacific Ocean. Bonnie liked to paint, crochet, garden and spending time in the kitchen. She also enjoyed being a part of the Senior Center in Effingham IL, particularly Bingo. She was a devoted, warm and caring wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She moved to Santa Cruz California to live near her daughter (Susan) in September 2016. She resided in an assisted living home where the staff and residents loved her. She brought humor and friendship to everyone there. After moving to California she was able to spend time with her 4 great grandchildren (Eleanor, Adelia, Carson and Olivia) which was a blessing to her and for them.
