Carolyn Sue's Story
Carolyn Sue Swearingen Miller, 72, of Hermitage, TN, formerly of rural Toledo, IL, passed away at 4:40 P.M., Tuesday, June 27, 2014, in the Williamson Medical Center of Franklin, TN.
Carolyn was born July 9, 1944 in Neoga, Illinois, the daughter of Leslie J. and Faye (Curry ) Cooper. She attended the First Christian Church of Hermitage, TN. She was a former employee of the First National Bank of Toledo, Il for twenty-three years and then she was employed as a Bank officer at the Franklin Synergy Bank of Brentwood, TN.
She married Creighton Miller, September 30, 2006, at Cooper Mountain Top, TN. Carolyn leaves her husband, Creighton Miller of Hermitage, TN; three sons, David Swearingen of Toledo, IL, Harold "Deano" Swearingen (Kendra) of Charleston, IL and Dan Swearingen (Janet) of Nashville, TN; five sisters, Marie Ingram (Charles) of Harrisburg, IL, Evelyn Pugh (Norbert) and Joan Oakley (Bernard all of Toledo, IL, Linda Pickins of Indianapolis, IN and ILA Mae Ray of Mattoon, IL; six grandchildren, Paris, Ciarra, Hannah, Kaitlynn, Sophia and Bailey Swearingen; several nieces and nephews.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Charlene Roy. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
As per the wishes of Carolyn, a private family Graveside Service was held at 12:00 P. M., (Noon), Saturday, July 1, 2017, in the Long Point Cemetery near Neoga, IL, with the Rev. Richard Coen, officiating. Burial was in the Long Point Cemetery, Neoga, Illinois. There will be a public Memorial Service held at a later date. The Swengel-O'Dell Funeral Home of Neoga, was in charge of arrangements.
