We were deeply saddened by the news of Darlene's death. We were neighbors/friends and got to know Darlene here at the Vines. She was a wonderful lady and golfer and that's how we got to experience her wonderful talent and her great humor.
Our deepest sympathy to Darlene's family.

I have fond memories of playing both golf and bridge with Darlene at the Estero Country Club. She was a warm and generous person and always greeted everyone with a big smile.
May she rest in peace knowing she made the world a better place by being part of it.

Darlene and I go back to the 90's when we sat around the pool in Fairway Bend and she was learning Bridge. We had alot of fun times back then......

Was so sorry to hear she was moving to be near family but it was the best for her. Never really met any of the children but we share in your sorrow as she was one Special Lady. Bob was special too!

So very sorry for your loss. I loved her spunk. After losing the sight in her eye, she went right back on the golf course, laughed about her terrible putting but her competitive spirit wouldn’t have it. She worked so hard and was soon putting like her ole self. We all missed her at the Vines when she left this spring. Rest In Peace my friend.

Bob, John, Dena and Drew as well, Sandie and I were sad to hear of the passing of your mother. While we actually never met her, we could always tell by the stories you would tell how great a matriarch of the family she was. She lived a long wonderful life and if you three "kids" of hers are any indication of the job she did raising you then she obviously did a great job. Remember her well and keep living the good life.

Our hearts go out to you and we are so sorry for your loss. Betty and Darlene were like sisters all their lives. It is hard to believe she will no longer be checking on us and dropping by to visit. Darlene was always thoughtful and supportive even as she bore the pain of her own losses. It was our honor and privilege to have had Darlene in our lives. We will never forget her. You have our deepest sympathy.

I have the most wonderful memory of Darlen when I was in a 4 some playing golf and she blew me away with hitting a driver off the fairway. She was a striking , beautiful lady , and I will always remember telling her how impressed I was with her talent ...her response....” It helps to close you eyes”. I will miss her very much.
