Darrell Eugene "Gene" Willison, 90, of Louisville passed away at 5:27 p.m. Friday, March 31, 2017, at Clay County Hospital in Flora.
Arrangements are entrusted to Neal Funeral Home of Louisville. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today, April 4, at Red Brush Christian Church. A celebration of life will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday with a one hour visitation prior to the service. Intermet will be in Red Brush Cemetery. Gene was born June 1, 1926, in Clay County, the son of the late Tennis Eugene Willison and the late Dorothy (Roberts) Willison. On March 24, 1946, he married Maysel "Pauline" Willison in Wayne County, at her parents' home. She preceded him in death on Jan. 14, 2011.
Gene was a longtime member and elder of Red Brush Christian Church and a long time member of the Bible Grove Beagle Club.
He leaves to mourn his passing, sons Mike (Marcia) Willison of Louisville, and Phillip (Linda) Willison of Carbondale; sisters, Anna Mae Shuster of Florida, and Janice Embrey of Flora; 24 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren.
Gene is preceded in death by his parents; wife; son, Justin "Gail" Willison; infant daughters, Patricia Ann Willison and Brenda Paula Willison; brothers, Vernon and Garland Willison; and sister, Donna Courtright.
