Jacqueline L. Ames
Sebring, Fla.
Jacqueline Louise Ames, 75, of Sebring, FL, previously long-time resident of Manteno, IL and more recently Neoga, IL, passed away peacefully on March 7, 2017.
She was born on August 2, 1941, in Kankakee, the daughter of Donald Paul and Virginia Louise Freigo (Simeur). She married Robert F. Ruyle in 1958; he preceded her in death. Jacqueline later married Wallace W. Ames and they began their adventure together in 1980, living in Manteno, IL.
Jacqueline was a homemaker until 1968 then worked at the Manteno Mental Health Center as an Administrative Assistant. She believed strongly in continuing her education and attended college classes through the years of raising her children and working. To her credit and achievement, she retired many years later as head of the IT department at the Tinley Park Mental Health Center.
She was an incredible mentor and example to many, most importantly to her children and grandchildren.
She was a past member of the United Methodist Church of Manteno, the First Christian church in Neoga, and most recently the Christian church in Sebring, FL. She volunteered over the years in many different facets. In Neoga, The Heartland Christian Village retirement home, Neoga's Community Food Pantry, and a church outreach program at the First Christian Church.
She lived life to the fullest and loved her family unconditionally and completely. She always had a smile for everyone, and anyone she met. She loved to help people. She will be missed by many.
Surviving are her husband and best friend, Wallace W. Ames; her daughter, Rhonda Bouchard; her son, Randy Ruyle; her daughters, Paula Ruyle and Pamela Marcotte. Also her brother/sister-in-law, Donald and Penelope Freigo; stepsibilings, David and Eileen Senesac, Dwayne Reils and Vivian and Gene DeCarlo. She was adored by her grandchildren and their spouses; many great-grandchildren; cousins, nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Donald P. Freigo and Virginia L. Freigo (Simeur); her stepsister, Betty Reils, and her two stepsons Lance Ames and Barry Ames.
A private family service will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital or American Heart Association.
