Janet Mae Sills, 90, of Effingham, passed away on Monday, December 25, 2017, at HSHS St. Anthonys Memorial Hospital in Effingham.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Sunday, December 31, 2017, at Centenary United Methodist Church in Effingham. Burial will be in Oak Ridge Cemetery in Effingham. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Saturday at Johnson Funeral Home in Effingham.

Janet was born on January 29, 1927, in Hartford City, IN, the daughter of James and Ruth (Wilson) Darst. She was united in marriage to John D. Bud Sills on December 25, 1946, in Hartford City, IN, and he preceded her in death on October 23, 2015.
Janet was a devoted member of Centenary United Methodist Church in Effingham. She loved dogs, especially Dachshunds and her very own Heidi. She enjoyed playing bridge and pinochle and cheering on the Effingham Hearts basketball team. She loved spending time with her family and grandchildren. Janet was a talented seamstress and collected teddy bears. She also enjoyed traveling with her husband, Bud, visiting every state except Alaska.
Janet is survived by her daughter, Nancy J. Sills of Tampa, FL; son, Jon A. (Cheryl) Sills of Effingham; twin granddaughters, Andrea C. (fiancé, Jacob Thomas) Sills and Ashley M. Sills, and grandson, Erik A. Sills, all of Effingham; and sister, June Jones of Muncie, IN.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and husband. Janet will be forever missed by her loving family.
