Jean's Story

Norma Jean (Ordner) Pulsford, 74, died peacefully a little before 3 a.m. on May 26, 2017 at Harbourview Care Center at South Shore in League City, Texas, with her family by her side.
Jean was born on March 2, 1943 in Effingham County, IL to Leroy and
Bertha (Grunloh) Ordner. She graduated from Teutopolis High School in 1961. She earned her LPN license at Capital Area School of Practical Nursing.
Jean worked as a nurse at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield, IL as well as Evergreen and Lakeland nursing homes in Effingham. Later she moved to Friendswood, Texas, and worked at Windsong Village Convalescent Center in Pearland, TX and retired in 2005. She was known for her extra care to her patients. Her hobbies included a great love of reading and playing board games with her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by her children, John (Nancy) Pulsford of Seymour, Indiana and Terri (Donnie) Bonner of Friendswood, Texas; sisters, Judy (Dick) Bence of Effingham, Linda (Bill) Corray of Highland, IL and Becky Ordner of Effingham; brothers, Maurice (Ruth) Ordner of Effingham and Kevin Ordner of Effingham; granddaughter, Jasmine Bonner; stepgrandchildren, Donnie Bonner Jr., Latisha Williams, Nyle Mackey, Katy Covert and Alicia Mullins; along with several nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Graveside services were held on June 3 at Hayes Grace Memorial Park in Hitchcock, Texas. A memorial service in Effingham may be
held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her honor to the Arthritis Foundation.
