Joseph "Harold" Cooper, 83, of Flora passed away at his home at 7:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 18, 2017.
Arrangements are entrusted to J.W. Neal Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Friday. A celebration of life will follow at 2 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Orchard Hill Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Clay County Hospice and will be received at the funeral home. Harold was born Jan. 7, 1934, in Louisville, the son of the late Joe Sire and the late Bertha Ida Cooper. On April 14, 1953, he was united in marriage to Phyllis Lee Cooper in Louisville. She preceded him in death on May 25, 2012.
Harold was employed by the Flora Police Department for many years as a radio dispatcher. He was also an ambulance driver, member of ESDA of Flora and a member of the Flora Fire Department.
He is survived by son, Lee Cooper of Flora; daughters, Chris (Tom Hardy) Dial of Louisville, Pam (Denny) Lewis of Louisville, Vicki (Roy) Feldhake of Louisville, and Toni (Alan) Linder of Kinmundy; brother, Leon (Pat) Cooper of Flora; 13 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Harold is preceded in death by his parents and wife, Phyllis.
