Leonard Ray Miller, age 79, of Glen Carbon, IL, died peacefully on July 14, 2017 at Rosewood Care Center, Edwardsville, IL.
He was born on January 8, 1938 in Clay County, IL, the son of Charles and Beatrice Miller of Edgewood, IL.
He married Nancy Jo Freemon on February 12, 1967 at Windsor Christian Church in Windsor, IL. Leonard and Nancy recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary.
Leonard is survived by his wife, Nancy and their children, Matt Miller of Maryville, IL, Rachel Miller of Collinsville, IL and Amanda (Michael) Liedtke of Collinsville, IL; and a twin sister, Loretta Faye Miller of Edgewood, IL; He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and extended family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Marion of Salem, IL and sister, Elinor Williams of Memphis, TN.
In 1993, Leonard retired from McDonnell Douglas after 24 years of service. Prior to his career at McDonnell Douglas, he served in the U.S. Army, stationed at Fort Leonard Wood, MO and Fairbanks, AK.
He was a member of LeClaire Christian Church. Leonard loved being with family and friends, talking, dining out and taking family vacations.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Monday, July 17, 2017 at Irwin Chapel, 591 Glen Crossing Road, Glen Carbon, IL.
In celebration of his life, funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 18, 2017 at Irwin Chapel, Glen Carbon, IL. Interment will be in Windsor Cemetery, Windsor, IL.
