Miss Paulette Ann Berg 65 years old of Kinmundy, formally of Altamont, passed away peacefully early Tuesday afternoon January 30 at her home.
Her Christian funeral will be conducted at 10:00 am Saturday February 3, 2018 at the Immanuel Lutheran Church, Altamont, Illinois with Rev. Bernard Ross III officiating.
Visitation will be Friday, February 2, 2018 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm and also one hour prior to funeral service at Immanuel Lutheran Church
Paulette was born on March 19, 1952 in the Mark Greer Hospital, Vandalia, Illinois being one of six siblings into the Christian family of Paul and Elda Berg. She was baptized on March 30, 1952 at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church where she has continued her membership. Paulette began her education at the Bethlehem Lutheran Grade School, and graduated from Immanuel Lutheran Grade School and Altamont Community High School with the class of 1970. She then received her Bachelors degree in education from Eastern Illinois University in 1975.
Paulette then served as teh assistant activity director for the Pleasant Acres Nursing Home in Altamont before beginning her 34 and a half year teaching career at Altamont Interparish Lutheran School, St. Elmo, Beecher City, and most recently at South Central School District in Kinmundy. Paulette's family was important as well as her interest in teaching kindergartners reading. She was active in 4-H for years both as a youth member in public speaking and as an adult leader at the Effingham County Fair. She also assisted the Effingham County Fair servicing in the office duties durning the fair.
Special in her heart was her ability to travel, her family, and her support of the St. Louis Cardinals. With her numerous nieces, nephews and cousins there were many forms of activities she enjoyed attending.
Paulette leaves to mourn in her passing: 2 brothers : Dale (wife, Connie) Berg of Altamont and Dean (wife, Sherry) Berg of Louisville, Illinois. 3 Sisters : Pat (husband, Steve) Robinson of Edgewood; Donna (husband, Dean) Stuckemeyer of Altamont and Pam Kepley of Indianapolis, Indiana. 12 Nieces and Nephews, 11 Great Nieces and Nephews and numerous cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
