Amanda Elizabeth Prather, 31, of rural Neoga, formerly of Bloomington, passed away at 7:42 a.m. Friday, July 7, 2017, at her residence.
A memorial service for Amanda will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Swengel-O'Dell Funeral Home, Neoga, with Pastor Rita Augsburger officiating. Visitation for family and friends will be from noon until service time Friday at the Funeral Home. Burial will be at a later date. She was born March 28, 1986, in Bloomington, the daughter of John and Deborah (Kashefska) Prather. Amanda graduated from Normal West High School in 2004 and she also graduated from the McKendree University in 2008. She worked at various jobs since graduating from college. Amanda was an avid softball player all through her high school and college years and she enjoyed the mountains of Colorado.
She leaves her loving son, Jonathon Troy Prather, who she enjoyed and loved very much. Amanda also leaves her parents, John and Deborah Prather; her grandmother, Levadora Kashefska, all of Neoga; four aunts, Robin Jones (Jarvis) of Bloomington, Pamela Church (Craig) of Bolingbrook, Melody Holt (Tim) of LaGrange, and Claudia Marteka (Jeff) of Davenport, IA; uncle, Gary Kashefska of San Diego, CA; cousins, Nolan Holt, Daniel Holt, Emily Harpenau, Jacob Harpenau (Kim, Owen), Ryleigh Hawkins, Ryonna Hawkins, Bradley Church (Sarah, Logan, Marshall), and Garrett Church (Rene, Kyla, Ethan).
Amanda was preceded in death by her grandparents, Arthur Kashefska, and Walter and Beverly Floyd.
