He was employed by Arab Termite & Pest Control, Effingham, IL for several years. He was currently employed by Big G Express, Shelbyville, TN. Preceded in death by his grandparents: Carl & Mary Fergus, Clarence & Ann Sipple, and nephew Eric David Wente.

NO words can express our sadness in losing my VERY SPECIAL nephew, Carl. We had a wonderful Aunt- Nephew friendship relationship our whole lives. Carl was loved by his family so much. He was a hard worker, caring and loved everyone of us. He was a great family man and loved his dogs, home and his job. He gave me Miss Pepper, my little dog now. He always called me AUNTIE. I will FOREVER love you Carl, until we meet again. You will be GREATLY missed. Love, Auntie Janice

Joyce, Fred, Fred II, and Joyce - I'm so sorry for your loss. I remember news reports and basketball pics of Carl and the Effingham Hearts in the EDN. What a great son he was. Love and prayers for you and your entire family.

I remember when when I was video tech. with the Effingham Hearts basketball team. Every time when we where getting beat up on re bounds under the basket by the other team, Coach Jim Maxedon would send in Carl to play in that zone and shove the other players around and give back to them what they where doing to us.

Next to his parents and my father and mother I have known my big cousin longer than anyone else. We grew up together in Maryland. We played on the same softall team ( the cardinals) coached by my dad and uncle. Even then when he was the pitcher and I was the catcher, we always had an understanding when we could just look at each other and ALWAYS knew what the other was thinking. Growing up we were always excited when we got to see each other. That excitement never ended growing up through the years. I miss him. I love him. we loved each other. We both knew that. He loved the packers. He knew that I loved DA BEARS . But it was always a rivalry in love. When I couldn't go to my sons coll...ege football games he would go. I miss my days growing up with him and then our life growing experiences. I love him. I was was going through pictures the other day. I found a picture of us in March 1966, he was 13 months old and I was 9 months old . Our Papaw and Mamaw were holding us. We looked so happy and loved. He will always be with my soul.Read more
