Heather was such an amazing person and teacher. I started working with her as her coach/mentor last year, and we quickly became friends. She always went out of her way to do the absolute best for her students. I remember her first day teaching when she read a story to her students about the first day of school and she gave them all “Jitter Juice” aka “Bug Juice” (her classroom theme was insects/nature) to toast the start of the year. She worked with each student to come up with a nickname unique for them, which they went by with pride. She made time everyday to check in with her class as a whole that she called “Family Time”. She was always one of the first ones on campus and one... of the last to leave. No matter how stressful a day was, she always looked to the bright side. If you needed a smile, Heather was your gal. Though we feel this horrible loss, we know that Heaven has gained a true angel. I know that she is watching over all of her students now and forevermore.Read more
