Linda L. Holste, 78, of Altamont died at 8:01 a.m., Tuesday, June 11, 2024 at Willowbrook, Effingham.
A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, June 21, 2024 at Woodlawn Cemetery, Effingham with Rev. Dr. James F. Wright officiating. Memorials may be made to Immanuel Lutheran Church, Sarah Bush Lincoln Hospice or the donor's choice. Gieseking Funeral Home, Altamont is assisting the family with arrangements.
Linda was born on Thursday, February 14, 1946 in St. Elmo, IL to Oscar and Hazel (Carroll) Schuster. She married Gerald Holste on June 12, 1966 at Blue Point Lutheran Church. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Grobengieser-Fischer American Legion Post # 512 and Gieseking-Schwerdtfeger VFW Post 7676, both of Altamont. She was retired from Lutheran Care Center having worked in the laundry department for over 30 years.
She is survived by: her sons, Daniel W. (Rebecca) Holste of Effingham and Matt Holste of Altamont; daughter, Jerri Lynn Blackburn of Muncie, Indiana; 5 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
Linda was preceded in death by: her parents; husband; and daughter, Judith in infancy.
